FACILITY
The High School Library offers students and faculty a warm and friendly place for research and reading or studying. The new facility can accommodate up to 60 students and has a beautiful view of the Hudson River and Adirondack Mountains. The Library is also the showcase for some great student artwork!
RESOURCES
Currently, the library has over 8,500 volumes and subscribes to 65 periodicals. In addition to the 12 computers available, students have access to a digital camera, a scanner, a DVD burner , an iPod, and a SMARTBoard for creating multimedia presentations.
CIRCULATION POLICY
Books may be signed out for 2 weeks at a time and can be renewed as often as needed provided there is no waiting list for the book. Students are not limited to the number of books checked out unless they have overdue items. Students will be charged replacement costs for materials that are lost or destroyed.
USING THE LIBRARY
Students may use the library before and after school, during study halls and with classroom teachers throughout the school year. Students must have passes to use the library and must sign in at the circulation desk when entering and sign out when leaving. Everyone is expected to use the library in a manner that is appropriate and allows others the ability to work in a quite atmosphere. Any student that has not completed classroom assignments may be denied “leisure library time”. The library is available to clubs and other organizations for meetings after school. There is a sign-up sheet at the circulation desk for this purpose.
