In an information-saturated society such as ours, homework is an essential practice in every student's educational experience. Our goal is to provide purposeful homework as a means of contributing to the educational advancement of our students.
All homework must be purposeful and have a relationship to the subject matter as well as the grading system understood by the student and parent. Homework must not account for more than 5% of the grade average.
The length of assignments in each subject may vary from those which will take the average students a few minutes of concentrated study, to longer assignments for which several days are allowed for completion. The total amount of homework for each grade level should follow the rules: 10 minutes times the grade level for which the student is in (10, 20, 30, 40, 50). Homework must be considered practice only.
Homework can be used for recall/review of work previously covered or as make up work in the event of extended absences. Correction of previous homework or tests may be considered homework.
