What You and Your Child Can Expect

Reviewing letters, sounds, sight words, and numbers are an ongoing expectation. You will be kept informed of new learning material as it is covered.

We encourage all parents to read to their child on a nightly basis. Participation in the 1000 Books Program is an excellent resource to borrow books for your child. Please feel free to talk about the success of this program with your child’s teacher.

Copied books will be sent home during the school year. These books are at the kindergarten level and should be read independently by your child to an adult.  If your child experiences difficulty with these books, you may read the book to your child until they become more familiar with the words. Children should keep these books at home and they are meant to be read over and over to practice fluency.

Teachers may provide additional activities to ensure each child’s success in their learning and may ask for your support.
