To get to know our new Business Administrator, Susan Foley, we asked her these 10 questions:
1. What was your journey like to get to this position here at Corinth?
I was in my previous position for 20 years. I was the business administrator in Bloomfield Central School District in the Finger Lakes region. My husband and I like this area – we go camping and snowmobiling in the Adirondacks – so we started looking for property. We purchased 68 acres in Argyle five years ago. My brother is here, and my daughter and her family live in Schuylerville, so that’s what brought us here.
2. What is your first memory of school?
I always remember loving going to school. I would come home and play school.
3. Can you share an embarrassing moment from school?
When driving to school one day, there was snow on the road and I went to turn into the driveway at school and the car instead slid into a car leaving.
4. What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to go snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, and motorcycling. My husband and I each have our own bikes – mine is a red Honda Rebel and his is a black Harley. I am also a Zumba instructor. We try to keep busy, we like to travel, and we’re always building, renovating, or remodeling something.
5. Can you tell us about your family?
My husband and I have a son who lives in Canandaigua and a daughter who lives in Schuylerville with her husband and our two grandsons, ages two and four.
6. Did you always know what you wanted to be when you grew up?
I always thought I would be a teacher, but then I really liked all the business classes that I took in high school, so I ended up doing accounting in college. I always wanted to be in the school arena, and Brockport had a three-year program to be a school business administrator without having to be a teacher first, so I finished my bachelor’s degree while working full-time and raising my children.
I love doing the paperwork part of my job. When everything balances, you know it’s right.
7. What is your favorite color?
8. Do you have a favorite team?
9. Do you have a bucket list?
10. If you had a magic wand, what would you use it for?
I wish everyone would get along.
Bonus Question: What are you looking forward to the most here in Corinth?
I’m looking forward to getting to know people, put faces to names, and be part of the community.
