Dear Corinth Parents/Guardians,
We have been closely following the situation surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus). District administrators have been meeting with and receiving regular updates from the Saratoga County Department of Health, the New York State Department of Health and the New York State Education Department.
It’s important to note, while the district does not have a confirmed case of COVID-19, we are following the Department of Health guidance in minimizing the number of large social gatherings. Additionally, because we are dedicated to ensuring that all of our school facilities continue to undergo routine cleaning in accordance with Department of Health recommendations, it is important that our custodial staff stay on a schedule rather than redirecting their efforts to special events.
After much deliberation and discussion with our building leaders, we have decided to cancel all extracurricular activities and suspend community use of our facilities until further notice. Additionally, parent volunteers and unnecessary guests will not be permitted in our school buildings. This does NOT include athletics at this time, as our sports teams are expected to be outside next week and this does not conform to the large social gatherings as previously mentioned.
Please know that the Board of Education and administration care deeply about our students, staff, and community, thus we will continue exercising caution when making these decisions. We will continue to update you on how the coronavirus will affect our district and we encourage everyone to obtain information from reliable sources including www.cdc.gov and the NYS Department of Health. We also encourage you to check our website and your email for updates from the district about other cancellations or postponements of school-related events.
Additionally, Saratoga County advises the following: If you believe you have been exposed or that you have symptoms of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), call your doctor. Please do not walk in to your doctor's office or to the Emergency Room and risk exposing the staff and other patients. If you arrive to Saratoga Hospital, you will be directed to a safe entry at a nearby testing location.
For all other questions, call: NYS Novel Coronavirus Hotline: 1-888-364-3065 or Saratoga County Public Health Services: 24-hour emergency line: 518-584-7460.
