Community partners present to Corinth middle school students

The below information was provided by Mrs. Pat Siano:

On Thursday, May 23, the middle school PBL and grade 8 students were treated to a special visit by representatives from Apex Solar in Glens Falls, Bruce McDevitt and Jesse Waldmann.

McDevitt and Waldmann presentation included not only information regarding the technology of solar energy, but they discussed different career opportunities, as well as the local and global impact of harnessing solar power.

Additionally, they brought along their "solar demo trailer,” where students were able to experience how solar panels work up close!

The visit is the kick-off community event for the Project Based Learning unit on renewable/alternative energy and supports one of our district goals to maintain community partnerships.

Thank you to Mrs. Dunbar and Mrs. Siano for facilitating this event and to Apex Solar for coming back each year to share real-world information with our students for their project.
