Congratulations to this week's athletes of the week, Abby Spieldenner, Teighan Sullivan, Connor Smith, Emma Proctor, Paige LaHendro and Rylee Dunbar.?
Abby scored a goal on an amazing shot to give her team the lead in their first win this season. Abby has been a consistent force all season and is always directing players on the field. Abby has had back to back great games and continues to improve.
Teighan headed the ball in for the game winner in a contest vs. Granville. Teighan has been loud and aggressive on the field all season. Teighan has picked up her play when needed and has even shifted positions when the team had injuries. Both Abby and Teighan have escaped injury and have been the consistent players on the field for the soccer team.
Connor Smith has been a tremendous leader on the football team. He is a senior captain that is there to help players when they have questions. Connor has gone above and beyond by collection donations for the Homecoming dance and showing up on a Saturday to help fundraise for the football program.
Emma Proctor is a junior starter on the volleyball team that exemplifies a great student athlete. Not only does Emma put forth maximum effort in-season, but she also does it out of season. Additionally, she prides herself on her academics. This season Emma has racked up over 25 serving points, 15 kills and 10 assists.
Paige LaHendro has been a very consistent player on our Varsity field hockey team. She can be counted on as a leader for our defense. Paige is also willing to play any position on the field. Paige stays positive and gives 100% at each practice. Our defense looks up to Paige and they follow her work ethic on the field.
Rylee Dunbar is an amazing young athlete. Rylee is in the 9th grade and is on the varsity soccer and cross country teams. Rylee recently broke our schools home course record by running an 18:09. (Old record 18:18) The future looks bright for both teams that Rylee is a member of.
