Corinth Elementary welcomes new School Social Worker

The district would like to welcome Corinth Elementary’s new School Social Worker Shayna Paradis. Paradis, whose husband Lance Paradis has worked in the district for three years and is currently a Grade 7 Social Studies Teacher, began working for the district on Monday, November 26.

A school social worker is an important asset to the district, to students and to their families. They work to provide services that help students enhance their emotional well-being and improve their academic performance.

“I am excited to meet and get to know everyone in the district,” said Paradis. “I have heard great things about the supportive atmosphere and the wonderful community here in Corinth.”

Paradis previously worked as a school social worker at The Charlton School located in Burnt Hills, NY for almost two years before coming to Corinth. She is looking forward to working closely with the students in the district and becoming someone they can rely on.

“I love getting to play and build a rapport with the students,” said Paradis. “Establishing those relationships really helps to make students feel comfortable and can ease their minds.”

Paradis currently resides in Queensbury, however, she grew up in Moira, NY just outside of Potsdam. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from SUNY Plattsburgh and a master’s degree in social work from Syracuse University.

Please join the district in welcoming Mrs. Paradis!
