It was announced on August 23 that Mark Doody would be serving as Interim Elementary Principal while the district begins its search to find a permanent replacement for Elementary Principal Jennifer Steimle. Doody, who has over 40 years of experience in education, began working with the district on Monday, August 27.

“As an alumni, I am very excited to join the team here in Corinth,” said Doody. “I am looking forward to being able to work closely with the teachers and the district’s families while I am here.”

Doody previously worked as Superintendent of Schools at Hudson Falls Central School District, where he had worked for over 20 years up until he retired in 2015. During his time at Hudson Falls, Doody served as the High School principal from 1995 until 2002 when he was promoted to Superintendent. Before working at Hudson Falls, Doody also served as Director of Athletics and Director of Staff and Student Services at Sidney Central School District located just outside of Oneonta, NY.

Shortly after his retirement, Doody served as an Interim Principal in both Whitehall Central School District and Glens Falls City Schools. Additionally, he served as Interim Superintendent at Granville Central School district as well as Principal for grades six through 12 at Fort Edward Union Free School District.

“Education has been a major part of my life,” said Doody. “Even after retirement I knew that I wanted to continue working closely with educators to grow many educational opportunities for students.”
