Dear Corinth Families,
I am aware of a “Fact Sheet” and a petition being circulated around the community with inaccurate and misleading information. In fact, I have received a number of calls in my school office on the matter. Hence, I wanted to clarify the issue of concern. This information has no connection with my role as Superintendent of Corinth Central School District. As such, I want to reassure you that my focus has, and will continue to be, in the best interest of our District and especially our students.
As the Vice President of the Saratoga Regional YMCA, I am unequivocally in support of a new facility in Corinth. In fact, I am leading this initiative as Chairman of the YMCA’s Capital Planning Committee. My goal is to establish a reciprocal agreement between the District and the YMCA allowing our student's exclusive usage to the facility. I know that Sue Commanda, President of the YMCA and CEO of HRCCU, is also committed to finding a new location for the Corinth YMCA, which better meets the needs of our community.
Regarding the RISE project in Corinth, I have no involvement in that matter and have no authority, as the Chairman of the YMCA’s Capital Planning Committee, to address the donation of the property on Pine Street by the HRCCU to RISE. It is my focus and hopes that our community will benefit from a new location for the YMCA and from the property development on Pine Street.
