Parents of Corinth Middle School students were challenged to “break out” of an escape room during the school’s annual Family Night.
The activity was developed by members of the Corinth Middle School Math Club, led by adviser and Family Night chairperson Tina Peck. Under Mrs. Peck’s guidance, the students developed a number of puzzle clues around the theme of Corinth’s bicentennial, which is being celebrated in 2018.
Parents who attended Family Night were greeted by Principal Schenone and introduced to the type of collaborative, problem-solving approach to learning that is being used by many teachers at the middle school.
The challenge requires participants to successfully use critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity skills to complete the challenge. The event was sponsored by the CMS Shared Decision-Making Team.
