It's Been an Amazing Summer!!!

Wow, this has been a summer to remember! My family and I traveled quite a bit over the past few months. We started our journey in Niagara Falls, where we took a ride on the Maid of the Mist. We certainly got wet!!!! Our next adventure took us to the Strong Museum in Rochester, where my family and I were able to play with vintage toys and other fun activities. In August, my family took an airplane and traveled to the Grand Canyon, Lake Mead, and Las Vegas! We spent one day playing with and feeding dolphins and exploring the southern rim of the Grand Canyon! Our final adventure took us to Six Flags New England, where my family rode every roller coaster in the park. Hopefully, you were able to enjoy the wonderful weather over the past several weeks.

I am happy to report that we are ready and excited for the upcoming school year!!!!! Starting on Thursday, September 2nd, student schedules will be accessible through our Parent Portal system. If you have not registered for Parent Portal, please contact the middle school office. Student schedules will also be mailed out Thursday afternoon and should arrive at your house early next week.

Updated COVID Guidelines and Protocols

As of August 10, 2021, the CDC identified Saratoga County as “High Risk” for community spread of the COVID-19 virus. Based on the recommendations of the CDC, Saratoga County Public Health Services, and our school physician, we have outlined some of the general components of our reopening plan to give families an understanding of what to expect this fall. The district will follow the guidelines outlined below while the region is in the “high” or “substantial” transmission levels. We will re-evaluate our protocols and communicate them with our families when the thresholds fall below these levels.

Health and Safety Requirements:

  • All individuals must wear an appropriate mask at all times while inside any of our buildings. Masks can be removed when individuals are eating or drinking

  • Masks are optional outside of buildings on school grounds

  • All staff and students utilizing district transportation must continue to wear masks at all times. To help reduce the population density on school buses, we encourage families who are able to walk students or drop them off whenever possible

  • Students and staff should continue to maintain 3-feet of physical distancing whenever possible

  • Families will need to remain mindful of their child's health and well-being. Please be sure to keep your child home if they show any signs or symptoms of COVID-19

  • All students are expected to attend school in-class every day

  • Virtual instruction will only be used for classroom quarantine or an entire district shut down. Students with a documented medical condition that inhibits them from attending school should contact their building administrator

  • Visitors will not be allowed on campus without prior approval

  • No indoor use of school facilities by outside groups

  • Vaccination is the leading public health prevention strategy to end the COVID-19 pandemic and is readily available through Saratoga County Public Health
