School Dog Helps Mark Literacy Month

Maisy, our school dog, is visiting classrooms this month to promote awareness of literacy. National celebrations, including Read Across America, Dr. Seuss’s birthday and “March Into Literacy,” take place in March as a time to recognize the importance of reading.

Maisy recently visited Mrs. Bedell’s and Mrs. Tucker’s classrooms to listen to students read, or to “read” to students (with help from Mrs. Williams or Mrs. Giumarra).

Maisy, a goldendoodle, is in training to become a therapy dog, and has been working with students at Corinth for nearly two years.
