Initiatives like this not only shape individual futures, but also lay the groundwork for local companies to thrive with homegrown talent.
Adirondack Studios, a globally renowned creative force based in Argyle, NY, has spent more than fifty years “Making a Scene” in the entertainment and design world. Jaelyn Cutright, a Creative Design Intern at Adirondack Studios first discovered the company during a student tour arranged through the ECCA New Media Program. The experience opened her eyes to the possibilities in her own backyard. “I always thought I would have to move to a city to pursue a creative career in entertainment,” Jaelyn said. “It’s amazing to be gaining real-world experience so early in my journey—especially at the very place I’ve dreamed of working and not far from my home in Corinth.”
“Jaelyn first stood out for her initiative in reaching out to us,” said Maurice O’Connell, Human Resources Specialist at Adirondack Studios. “Since then, she has continued to impress us with her creativity, the quality of her work, and her work ethic. The fact that she has been welcomed back for a third internship speaks volumes.”
Jaelyn, a 2023 graduate of Corinth Central School District, will enter her senior year at SUNY Oswego this fall — just two years after finishing high school. She fast-tracked her education by enrolling in the ECCA’s New Media program during her junior and senior years, earning both an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and a New Media certificate by the time she completed high school. Jaelyn is now on track to graduate in the spring of 2026 with dual degrees: a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interaction Design and a Bachelor’s in Theatre, along with a minor in Live Event Design. Reflecting on her journey, Jaelyn shared, “I never imagined I’d be graduating college so soon or gaining hands-on experience in my field so close to home. Enrolling in the ECCA allowed me to save time and money while pursuing my education, and I’m incredibly grateful for the experience and the opportunities provided by Adirondack Studios.”
