Corinth CSD Bell-to-Bell Phone-Free Policy

Beginning this September, Corinth Central School District will implement a bell-to-bell phone-free policy for all students, following statewide guidance from Governor Hochul. Under this new policy, personal devices—including cell phones, earbuds, and smartwatches—must be turned off and put away for the entire school day or left at home.

The change is aimed at supporting a more focused, safe, and connected school environment. Schools that have already adopted similar policies have reported stronger student engagement, improved academic performance, better peer interactions, and a decrease in online distractions and social conflict.

Superintendent Dr. Mark R. Stratton shared a letter with families outlining the decision and the district’s commitment to student well-being.

Over the coming weeks, the district will provide additional details about how the policy will be implemented at each building level and how families can stay connected with their students during the day, if needed.

Corinth CSD also welcomes community feedback and encourages parents and guardians to share their thoughts by completing this form.

The district looks forward to working together with families to support a learning environment where all students can thrive.
