Corinth Central School District music teacher Theresa Crombach has been named one of 202 quarterfinalists for the 2027 Music Educator Award™, presented by the Recording Academy® and GRAMMY Museum®.
The national award recognizes current educators from across the country who have made a significant and lasting contribution to music education while demonstrating a commitment to maintaining music programs in schools and communities.
According to the Recording Academy, more than 2,100 nominations were submitted nationwide for the 2027 award, with quarterfinalists representing 177 cities across 36 states.
Crombach said receiving the recognition left her feeling “truly humbled and honored to be considered among this list of amazing educators. I am grateful for all of the support and encouragement I have received from my own educators, colleagues, and students, as well as for all of the memorable opportunities I have been a part of that have made this possible.”
She also reflected on the importance of music education in Corinth and the role it plays in students’ lives.
“I whole-heartedly believe that music education gives students a voice, a sense of pride, and a place where everyone can feel like part of something bigger than themselves. I strive to teach my students to embrace creativity, to make mistakes, and to develop the discipline to keep working toward their goals. We build real, lasting connections, and I hope that these lessons reach far beyond my classroom and continue to impact them for a lifetime of success in all that they do,” Crombach said.
One educator will ultimately be selected from 10 finalists and recognized for their remarkable impact on students’ lives. The honoree will be flown to Los Angeles to attend the 2027 GRAMMY Awards® and participate in a range of GRAMMY Week events.
Crombach has been recognized for her dedication to students, commitment to music education and positive impact within the Corinth school community.
