Corinth Central School District is pleased to announce its participation in the Creating Healthy Schools and Communities Grant awarded to Glens Falls Hospital’s Health Promotion Center through the New York State Department of Health.
The five-year grant runs from June 2026 through May 2031 and assists selected school districts and neighboring communities in increasing access to healthy foods and opportunities for daily physical activity.
Glens Falls Hospital’s Health Promotion Center has been a department of Glens Falls Hospital for more than 20 years. The Health Promotion Center strives to improve the health and well-being of people and communities and make the healthy choice the easier choice. Its work focuses on strategies to make it easier for people to eat well, be tobacco-free, be physically active and obtain preventive care.
The Health Promotion Center team supporting the program includes Elizabeth Hoffman, Senior Program Coordinator, and Madeline McDougall, Program Coordinator.
Corinth Central School District signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Health Promotion Center in December 2025, which was submitted with Glens Falls Hospital’s grant application to the state.
The Health Promotion Center noted that the commitment of school superintendents to collaborating with its staff during the application process contributed to the successful request for funding.
Corinth Central School District looks forward to participating in the Creating Healthy Schools and Communities Grant and working with Glens Falls Hospital’s Health Promotion Center throughout the five-year grant period.
