Our new Modified Golf Team hit the links for the first time yesterday! Here are some highlights from Coach Waring:
"Modified golf had their first match against Lake George yesterday. The overall match ended with a tie, but players did a great job navigating a golf course they had never played before with challenging greens and narrow fairways."
Great job Riverhawks!

A big shout out to our Boys Varsity Soccer team for earning the WIN on the road last night!! Here are highlights from Coach Deso:
"The Riverhawks travelled to Greenwich for a Monday night battle under the lights! Composure, communication and patience were all solidly present throughout the contest. No one athlete was responsible for the 2-0 victory, as team play dominated the performance. Outhustling, and outshooting, while possessing the ball for the better part of the contest, these young athletes demonstrated the patience seen and expected of a veteran team.
Scoring would come in the second half, as the Riverhawks were finally able to break the Greenwich back line, with both goals scored by Tyler Smolinski, assisted by Tristan Lozier and defender Lucca Giaculli!
The team is now 1-0-0 in the league, and 4-0-0 overall, with their next game being held on Wednesday at home against Granville."
Congratulations, Riverhawks! We hope to see many fans at the home game tomorrow!!

Dear CCSD Families,
This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Curiosity. Curiosity means you like exploration and discovery. You ask lots of questions because you want to learn more about anything and everything.
Curiosity is essential to our character, driving our desire for wisdom and knowledge. It keeps us engaged in stories and encourages us to try new activities or travel. Everyone experiences curiosity differently — behaviorally, intellectually, and emotionally.
People with strong curiosity are more likely to ask questions and try new things. Curiosity is a form of courage because asking questions shows we don't know something, and trying new activities risks failure. However, it's through questions and exploration that we learn and grow.
To practice and encourage curiosity at home, please visit the mobile-friendly P2 for Families: https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/ .There, you may watch a video clip together and discuss a quote and three questions related to the strength of curiosity.
The character strength for this week is embedded into our school mission statement: "The mission of the Corinth Central School, located at the gateway to the Adirondacks, is to spark lifelong curiosity in every student through inspired teaching that builds on the strengths of each student and creative partnerships so that our graduates excel in a rapidly changing world."
We hope that this week's social emotional learning curriculum will be the catalyst to initiate that spark! Have a great week and thank you for your support.

It was an exciting nail biter for the Boys Varsity Soccer team as the fans cheered for our Riverhawks who played with intensity. Read game highlights from the big win on Friday from Coach Deso:
"The Riverhawks hosted the Hartford Tanagers in their first league contest Friday afternoon. Despite outshooting Hartford in shots 28-5, Corinth was unable to thread the needle to find the elusive first goal, despite several offensive opportunities from the likes of Jase Brunell, Tristan Lozier, Tyler Smolinski, Sam Tangora and Aiden Wentworth.
Mike Petteys, Daniel Hunt and Lucca Giaculli soundly secured the backfield throughout the contest, turning away any promising attacks from the Tanagers.
The only score of the contest would come in the second overtime with four minutes left to play. Riverhawk midfielder Sean Ward, determined to find his way to the goal, was able to get inside the 18, ultimately drawing a foul and earning a penalty kick for Corinth.
Hunter Shanahan would calmly find the back of the net to give the Riverhawks the hard-earned victory.
Corinth is now 1-0-0 in league play, and 3-0-0 overall. Next, we travel to Greenwich on Monday night for a non-league game under the lights at 7:00pm."
Congratulations, Riverhawks!!!

A big shout out to our Girls Varsity Soccer team for earning the win last night! Here are some game highlights from Coach Kanofsky:
"Our girls had a successful first home game with a 3-1 win against Hudson Falls. The intensity and work ethic was second to none. The Riverhawks moved the ball seamlessly from one side of the field to the other, opening up space and availability for numerous shots on net.
Goals came from Alexis Baker, Erika McGuire and Sage Shanahan. Coach Crossman and I are so proud of the teamwork and love of the game this team has demonstrated everyday. Keep an eye out for our next home game!"
Congratulations, Riverhawks! Check out a few photos from the game courtesy of Mrs. Holly Capasso (THANK YOU!) See Facebook for more photos!

Our Varsity Golf Team continues to be hot on the links. Here are some highlights from last night's match from Coach Bruno:
"The Golf team won its second consecutive league match in dramatic fashion vs. Whitehall. After our # 1 and # 2 lost close matches, we needed the whole team to pick us up.
Then Liam Crooks at the #4 won his second straight match. Cooper Philo shot a sectional score to win his second straight match and Collin Vincent won his second consecutive match. We just needed to win or tie at the #3 match. Aiden Schurr delivered clutch shot after clutch shot to win his match on the last hole to give the team the victory.
It was a very exciting match and the team really pulled through for each other. Total team effort and now 2-0 on the season. Great job team! "
