"A huge shoutout to the Corinth golf team that beat Whitehall and Bolton 4-1 in their trimatch today at Sagamore.
Cooper Philo played close matches at the #1 spot. Aiden Schurr, Collin VIncent, Parker Duerr-Clark all swept both their matches. Gage Bardin won his solo match again and Reiley Halliday won his solo match.
Aiden had a 49, Parker had a 45 and Reiley shot a 46. It was a great team match. The team is now 4-1! Next match is home on Monday!"

Our Girls Varsity Soccer Team had a big win last night! Here are some highlights from Coach Kanofsky: "Corinth dominated the field last evening, earning a 6-0 win over North Warren. We took the field with intensity and purpose this evening. From the very beginning, possession and passing were priorities for us. Caitlyn Crossman was able to put away her third goal from a penalty kick about halfway into the first half.
Isabella Craig had two goals, and was able to assist two more for Maddie Baldes and Alexis Hall to ultimately find the back of the net. North Warren battled for possession, but Corinth’s defense remained strong and did not allow North Warren any shots on net.
Kerrigan Millis was able to score the final goal of the game on a direct kick outside of the box, this being her first varsity goal. We are so proud of this group of ladies! Keep an eye on our schedule for our next game!"

Congratulations, Riverhawks!!

It was a great win for the Boys Varsity Soccer Team. Here are highlights from Coach Deso:
Ft. Ann travelled to Corinth yesterday in what would turn out to be a game worth remembering for a long, long time. The energy was high, and the battle raged on from the opening minutes of the contest! In first half action, the Riverhawks controlled the tempo of the game, controlling the midfield, making many fine runs on frame. It would take the team the better part of the first half before they were able to break down the Ft. Ann defensive line.
Tristan Lozier would find a seam for a streaking Tyler Smolinski, who would ultimately beat a defender and blister a shot, which was unable to be touched or collected by the Cardinal keeper. This would ultimately be the only goal of the entire contest.

In the second half, the tension was high! There came a moment in the contest where it seemed that the Cardinals had breached the Riverhawk defense, but Owen Baker made a quick decision to vacate the net, making two consecutive magnificent saves to preserve his first shutout of the season.

With this victory, the Riverhawks continue their winning streak, notching their third consecutive league win, and fourth consecutive win overall, bringing their league record to 3-0-0, and 4-2-0 overall. Most notably, though, is the significance of yesterday's victory for Corinth, as they achieved something truly monumental, and an incredibly important milestone for their program. Dating back as far as any Corinth coach or any player can account for, this would appear to be the first time that a Corinth boys soccer team has ever come away victorious over the Ft. Ann Cardinals. A truly, hard-fought match by both sides this afternoon, and a victory for the ages for the Corinth Riverhawks!

Congratulations to our Riverhawks!!

Our Girls Varsity Soccer Team earned the "W" tonight! Here are game highlights from Coach Kanofsky: Final score: Corinth-2 Granville-1 "Corinth earned their first win of the season against Granville this evening. Beginning the game strong, Granville battled Corinth’s defense and was able to meet the back of the net early on. To close out the first half, Isabella Craig responded on the attack to put away her first varsity goal as an 8th grader.
Into the second half, Corinth upped the intensity, and maintained the majority of the possession with multiple shots on goal. As a result of a penalty kick, Caitlyn Crossman was able to score her second goal of the season.
I am so proud of every girl on our team, the hard work pays off! Corinth moves on to play North Warren Thursday evening, come out and support!" Way to go, RIVERHAWKS!!!

Our JV Mountaineers Football team had their home opener last night! Here are some highlights from Coach Bowe:
"The JV football team had their first game last night vs. Glens Falls. The boys came out with a lot of intensity at the beginning of the game. They continued to work very hard throughout the whole game. Even though the score did not end up in our favor there were a lot of bright sides to the game. We had some nice touchdowns and drives we put together. The defense forced a couple of turnovers. This is a very young team that will only improve as the season goes along. These boys have a lot of good football ahead. We are excited for our next game. Thank you to everyone that came out and supported us last night."

Keep working hard, guys! We are proud of you!! Photos courtesy of our Riverhawk fans! (Thank you!)

Dear Families,

This week our school community will be kicking off our Positivity Project Social-Emotional-Learning curriculum. This week, we are focusing on the Other People Mindset. This means anything that builds relationships is going to make you happy.

The mission of the Positivity Project is to empower America’s youth to build positive relationships by understanding, appreciating, and exemplifying the character strengths in us all. People who have strong positive relationships do five things consistently - these are the five practices of the Other People Mindset. 1. Recognize the good in other people, 2. Recognize that everything you say or do affects other people, 3. Support others when they struggle, 4. Cheer people on when they succeed, 5. Remain present when giving people your attention. People who have a strong Other People Mindset are able to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with others.

While mental health is incredibly complex, we do know that positive relationships can help people become happier, healthier, and more resilient. And, the Positivity Project believes that educators have a huge opportunity and vital role to play in this endeavor. Our nation’s youth spends a large percentage of their time in school. By deliberately and consistently teaching students that relationships are important -- and that positive relationships are cultivated through character and the Other People Mindset -- educators can roll back these trends and create strong citizens and leaders for our communities and countries.

To practice and encourage the character strength of prudence with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families where together you can watch a video, read a quote and talk about the answers to the 3 questions.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our SEL/DEI Coordinators, Patricia Siano or Christina Taylor.
Have a wonderful week!

It was a big day on the field for our Boys Varsity Soccer team! Here is a game recap from Coach Deso:
"The Corinth Riverhawks hosted last year's defending league champion Bolton-Warrensburg yesterday morning in a make-up game that was a result of Friday's rainout.
The battle that would ensue would be an epic dogfight, but in the end, the Riverhawks would come away victorious, toppling the Eagles in an exciting double overtime victory.
First half action would test the durability of each team's defense, and neither was showing any vulnerability. Corinth's back four: Wiseman, Hunt, Shanahan and Petteys remained stout and unforgiving, while BW, led by Tyler Trowbridge, showed no sign of willingly conceding a goal.
It would take the better part of 33 minutes before anyone would successfully break through the defensive line. After a scrum in front of the net off a serve from Corinth's Sam Tangora, Logan West would battle for a shot, which would glance off a BW defender to put the Riverhawks up by one at halftime.
Within seven minutes of the second half, BW's Louis Lang drove down the field, pulled the defenders with him, and was able to find a streaking Ben Holcomb to bury the equalizer for the Eagles.
Overtime would see opportunities from both squads, with Corinth GK, Owen Baker and BW keeper, Keith Sonley responding when it mattered to keep the game even. The game winning goal would happen with 3:30 left in the second overtime. Corinth's Sam Tangora would serve up a far post corner kick, a scramble ensued in front of the net, and somehow the Riverhawk's Tyler Smolinski would find a way to will the ball in the back of the net for the game-winning goal.

The Riverhawks have now notched their third consecutive victory, placing them 2-0-0 in the league and 3-2-0 overall. The boy's next game is a big one on Wednesday, September 13th, battling at home against the Ft. Ann Cardinals... come out and show your support!"

It was a big night for our Boys Varsity Soccer team last night. Here are some highlights from Coach Deso:
Final score (in second OT) Corinth-2 HL- 1 "Corinth travelled to Hadley-Luzerne yesterday for their league opener under sunny and very warm skies. The onset of the contest brought a stiff battle to win the midfield, and Corinth gained possession and control of the game early on.
Possession and control would not be enough in the equation to produce goals though, at least early on. The Riverhawks were able to penetrate deep into the Eagle defensive end, but were unable to score. The Eagles struck first on a penalty kick, and Corinth would have to fight back from behind in the second half.
The Riverhawks took the field with purpose and were a team intent on evening up the score. Shot after shot would test the Eagle back line and it would be 30 minutes into the second half before Corinth was rewarded for their efforts. A scrum in front of the net ensued, and Tyler Smolinski was able to send it home to tie up the game.
Overtime would arrive, and there was no shortage of intensity. The first overtime would see several exchanges in possession, breakaways on both sides, but no one could find the golden goal. That would come with but three minutes remaining in the second half.
Hunter Shanahan carried the ball down the line where he would beat the defender, serve a beautiful ball inside the 18, which was eagerly greeted by the head of Tyler Smolinski and placed perfectly in the goal to secure the victory for the Riverhawks.
Credit to both teams for persevering through a warm and challenging environment on the afternoon... a well-played contest! Corinth moves to 1-0-0 in league play, 2-2-0 overall, and will take on Bolton-Warrensburg at home on Friday at 4:30... come support this incredibly hardworking team!"

Congratulations, RIVERHAWKS!!!!
