Dear CCSD Families,
This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Fairness. Fairness means treating everyone with respect and recognizing that all people have value. It also means being open-minded and fair in how we approach situations.
By teaching fairness, we help students develop into responsible, trustworthy, and kind individuals who care about others. Fairness builds the foundation for strong friendships and a positive community.
To practice and encourage the character strength of fairness at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families: https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/ to watch a video and have discussions about fairness.
We encourage you to ask your student about the daily social emotional learning lessons, activities and discussions this week! Thank you for your support.

Attention, CCSD athletes and families. Due to the ground being soft at the Center Street athletic complex, we are experiencing some property damage. Our buildings and grounds crew have locked the gates so that no vehicles are permitted on the grounds at this time. Please use the parking lot for vehicles until such time as the grounds crew deems it appropriate to open the gates (when the ground is firm again).
Please park all vehicles in the designated lots for the Center Street athletics complex. We appreciate your cooperation.

Attention, Varsity Softball fans! Today's scrimmage vs. Argyle will now be played at home in Corinth at 4:30. Good luck to our Riverhawks!

Our Girls Varsity Softball team kicked off their season with a win last night! Coach Bruno shared game highlights:
"The RiverHawk softball team won their opener 21 to 6 over Hadley Luzerne. Aubrey Lozier pitched a 1-2-3 inning to start off the game. The Riverhawks then scored 14 runs in the first inning with a lot of patient at bats.
Aubrey Lozier struck out the side in the second inning and then Piper Houser hit a two run home run in the bottom of the second inning, her first homerun on varsity. Hadley ended up getting two runs in the third inning but the River Hawks answered with a two run single by Makenna Eastman.
It was an overall great team effort. Heather Pita led the team with five RBIs and four hits. Alexis Baker added a Double and two RBIs. Greta Berrigan, Makenna and Olivia Holmes all had 2 RBIs on the day for the offense.
On the mound, Aubrey Lozier ended up striking eight batters out and had some strong defense behind her. It was a great way to start the season! Coach Baker and Coach Bruno were very impressed with the total team effort. We are very excited to see what this team can accomplish this year!"
Way to go, Riverhawks!! Keep up the great work!

Dear CCSD Families,
This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Humor. Humor means enjoying laughter and bringing smiles to others.
Humor helps us see the lighter side of things, making tough times easier and more fun. It doesn't mean you have to tell jokes, but people with humor often notice the funny moments in life and share them with others. Humor can lift people's spirits and help them through challenges. It’s important to help students understand how to use humor in a kind way, to lift others up, and never at someone else's expense.
To practice and encourage the character strength of humor at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families where you can watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions: https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/
Thank you for supporting our Social Emotional Learning curriculum. Have a great week!
