Lilly shared her inspiring experiences from the Girls Construction Summer Camp, co-hosted by the Coalition, WSWHE BOCES and local business sponsors, expressing gratitude for the opportunity and for everyone who helped make the hands-on learning program so meaningful. She also highlighted the impact that Mr. Doug Ford, founder of the camp, and Mr. Matt Whitbeck of Whitbeck Construction have had on her passion for the trades, fueling her dream of one day owning her own construction business.
Dressed for success and speaking with confidence beyond her years, Lilly delivered her remarks like a seasoned professional to more than 300 guests. We could not be more proud of her! We look forward to supporting her continued career and technical education journey at CHS. Her future is bright!
Students interested in the camp or women in the trades are encouraged to speak with Lilly. She is a true role model for young women everywhere!
CCSD is proud to provide many different career exploration opportunities for our students, including a robust Career and Technical Education path.

Have a great short week and a wonderful Thanksgiving break!
#SchoolSpirit #CorinthisCommunity

Our sixth graders traveled to Albany this week to meet with state leaders and learn more about how our government works. Students had the opportunity to speak with Senator Tedisco and Assemblyman Simpson, ask questions and enjoy a guided tour of the beautiful Capitol and its legislative chambers where the Senate and Assembly conduct business.
To show their appreciation, students presented both officials with Riverhawk posters thanking them for their service, modeling this week’s social-emotional learning theme: GRATITUDE!
The field trip also included a visit to the 9/11 exhibit at the NYS Museum where students learned more about the history of our state and country. It was a powerful and meaningful experience that deepened their understanding of this important moment in American history.
We are proud of our 6th graders for their safe, respectful and responsible behavior as well as for asking thoughtful questions during their visit.
A big shout-out to our sixth-grade team and Mr. Testani for facilitating this hands-on learning experience, fostering civic engagement and helping prepare our students to become informed, contributing citizens.
Thank you to Senator Jim Tedisco and Assemblyman Matt Simpson for welcoming our students and staff, helping to make this an exceptional field trip!

This hands-on experience supports the NYS P–2 Science Learning Standards which guide young learners in observing how animals use their behaviors and environments to meet their needs.
Our youngest scientists were so excited to share their favorite bears and show off their snazzy PJs. What a fun and cozy way to bring science to life!

From the Sweethearts and Heroes social media:
"STUDENT SPOTLIGHT - Conley Baldwin has climbed mountains daily for about 12 years, so is it surprising that his next challenge literally involves them? The Corinth High School (NY) freshman was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 2, but it hasn’t defined or limited him. He’s an honors student, an athlete and “a genuine source of inspiration to those around him,” his nominator said. “To say Conley is inspiring is an understatement. He truly embodies the title of ‘Sweetheart & Hero,’ making a meaningful and positive impact on his school, his community and the world.” Conley is a role model for his peers in Corinth, and now he’s emerged as a motivational speaker, sharing his journey at conferences hosted by Breakthrough T1D Upstate New York — first in middle school and again this fall. Conley also participates in Type 1 Alpine Adventures and set a goal to snowboard 30,000 vertical feet at 20 different peaks, from New York to Vermont, to raise funds and awareness for Type 1 diabetes. “His determination, spirit and commitment to helping others demonstrate a maturity well beyond his years,” his nominator said. Step into the Student Spotlight, Conley Baldwin! You deserve it! "

Grade 2 Scientists at Work!
Our second graders explored weathering last week through a hands-on investigation that helped them see how wind, water and ice can slowly break down rocks and shape the Earth’s surface.
Students observed, compared and recorded the changes they noticed, acting just like real scientists! Their work aligns with the New York State P–12 Science Learning Standards including:
Science & Engineering Practices:
✓ Making observations
✓ Recording data
✓ Describing patterns
✓ Collaborating with peers during an investigation
Our young learners loved discovering how the world around them is constantly changing! The photos say it all! (Thank you to Ms. Winters for the great photos! More photos on Facebook!)

Over these next two weeks, our school community will focus on the character strength of Gratitude. Gratitude means being aware of and grateful for good things that happen.
Gratitude is about feeling and showing thankfulness. It helps us see the good in others and in the world. People with gratitude are ready to appreciate and return kindness. Expert Robert Emmons says gratitude strengthens relationships because it makes us recognize how others support us.
Out of all 24 character strengths, gratitude is the single best predictor of individual well-being. It is linked to more energy, empathy, happiness, and optimism. The good news is that gratitude can be practiced and strengthened like a muscle. The more we practice it, the more benefits we get.
To practice and encourage this strength at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families:
