They strive to mentor younger athletes by promoting engagement in co-curriculuar activities, healthy lifestyle choices and responsible decision-making. The group provides service to our school and community by tutoring, volunteering for camps and special athletic events like Hoops for the Holidays and so much more! They embody all that we want our Riverhawks to be!

Our JV Softball team continues to tear it up on the diamond! Coach Parker shared highlights:
"The JV Softball team won last night against Stillwater by a score of 23-11. The team was led by Arabella Nichols who had 4 hits including a double along with 4 RBIs. Heather Pita had two hits including a triple with 4 RBIs as well. Brooke Curry had 3 hits with 4 RBIs and Teagan West added two hits and 2 RBIs. Jess Freebern helped the cause by scoring 4 times too.

In the spirit of this week's character strength for The Positivity Project, LEADERSHIP, we are featuring student leaders each day! Today, we recognize our Corinth Elementary Student Council!
CES takes the leadership role very seriously! Our 4th grade students interested in being elected to the student council must apply sharing their reasons for joining, the talents that they can bring and are voted on in homerooms.
CES Student Council members are the true leaders, modeling our #ChooseKindness program, the pillars of our PBIS program (Being Safe, Respectful and Responsible!) and the character strengths of our Social Emotional Learning curriculum, the Positivity Project.
This year, activities include donating $250 to the Ronald McDonald House, made cards for the children at St. Jude's Hospital, donated to scholarships for the Community Theater Group - Center Stage, and more. Upcoming activities include: donating toiletries to the Corinth Community Cupboard, donating to a community group on Flag Day, visiting the Corinth Food Pantry and a special visit to our Corinth Mayor's office to learn more about being a leader and good citizen. You all truly embody the "Other People Matter" mantra!

This week, our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Leadership. Leadership means you value each member of your group and inspire people to do their best.
Leadership can be both formal and informal. It is concerned with getting others to do what needs to be done while maintaining group morale to ensure readiness to act in the future. This character strength’s focus is on the personal qualities of leaders rather than the practice of leadership. These qualities include the ability to understand others and inspire them toward a common goal, the capacity to mitigate conflict and mold consensus, and the desire to lead other people.

Spring Concert Season is upon us!!!! Our student musicians have been working hard all semester and are really looking forward to hosting their spring concerts in our newly remodeled auditorium!
Our Spring Concert line-up begins on Thursday, May 9th with our 7th & 8th Graders performing with hand bells, chorus and band.
On Tuesday, May 21st our 5th and 6th graders will take the stage performing in our hand bell ensemble, chorus and band.
Then we take a brief break from the stage and our 7-12 instrumentalists will march in the Corinth Memorial Day Parade on Thursday, May 30th at 6pm.
Finally, our concert season comes to a close with the High School Spring Concert on Thursday, June 6th and will feature our HS Hand bells, Chorus and Concert Bands. All Concerts are being held in the Oak Street Auditorium and will begin promptly at 7pm. We kindly ask that you do not bring ANY food or beverages into our newly remodeled space.

These students have been travelling to Skidmore every Thursday evening to rehearse with the college band for this performance that included American Overture for Band, featuring our horn section and the premiere of a modern composition by Skidmore College Sophomore band member called L’appel du Vide and several other concert band standards. MJ Sprague and Alex Schiavi each had 10-0 matches at the number 1 and 2 singles positions. Other winners on the day were #3 Duncan Peterson, #4 David Frye, #5 Wyatt Brown-Lagoy, and John Geary and Karissa Fullerton at number 2 doubles.
On Friday, the team will be participating in the rescheduled Adirondack League Tournament at Echo Lake in Warrensburg. Let's go Riverhawks!!!"
