Fourth Grade ELA classes took a "virtual field trip" to Fallingwater in Pennsylvania. This architectural masterpiece by Frank Lloyd Wright is the art selection for our Wit And Wisdom Module 2. Students will be focusing on how extreme settings have an effect on characters.
Thank you to Mrs. Fuller for the photos and for utilizing our technology in a creative way to bring our Wit and Wisdom ELA content to life for our students!!

Dear CCSD families,

This week, our school community will continue our focus on the character strength of GRATITUDE. Gratitude means being aware of and grateful for good things that happen.
Gratitude is about feeling and showing thankfulness. It helps us see the good in others and in the world. People with gratitude are ready to appreciate and return kindness. Expert Robert Emmons says gratitude strengthens relationships because it makes us recognize how others support us.
Out of all 24 character strengths, gratitude is the single best predictor of individual well-being. It is linked to more energy, empathy, happiness, and optimism. The good news is that gratitude can be practiced and strengthened like a muscle. The more we practice it, the more benefits we get.

Please consider visiting the Postivity Project website for families to continue the discussions at home. We encourage you to ask your students about their lessons, activities and discussions on gratitude from last week and the upcoming week.

We wish our students, staff, families and community a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are thankful for you!

Our CHS Criminal Justice students visited Judge James Murphy’s Court to observe our nation’s Constitutional Bill of Rights applied in a number of criminal defendants’ cases. Students heard cases involving the 2nd Amendment, 5th, 6th Amendments, and the14th Amendment. They learned how our justice system holds people accountable for their actions while maintaining their due process rights.
Our students also observed a variety of careers in the courts that they may pursue after high school.
Thank you to the Saratoga County court for welcoming our students for this meaningful visit. Kudos to Mrs. Fay for facilitating this real-world academic experience.

Our CES grade 3 team took their learning on the road recently! The annual field trip to Via Aquarium in Schenectady enhanced their understanding of how and why people explore the sea which is an essential question in their ELA unit. Students were able to touch a sting ray, feed carp fish and engage in many exciting activities. What an exciting hands-on learning experience, bringing their ELA unit to life!

ATTENTION CMS/CHS families:
Picture Make-up Day is scheduled for 11/19/24 .
Order forms for cash/check orders are in the main office.
Instructions to participate in Absentee/Retake Day:
1. Mark your calendar!
2. Absentees and New Students/Staff should plan to be photographed on this day so they may be included on the class photos and/or the yearbook. (No purchase necessary.)
3. The same order form from the original picture day may be used for cash/check orders on make-up day.
4. In order to submit a new online order, families will need to wait for the updated proof sheet and submit an order using their student's personalized online code. Online orders will be mailed directly to the home address rather than to the school.
5. Retakes: It does not cost to have a retake. If you or your student are not happy with the original picture, please have a new photo taken.
It is helpful to the photographer to add a note to the returned pictures explaining what you would like to have changed with their picture. 6. The student does need to return the complete Picture Package in the envelope to the photographer on Retake Day. We cannot exchange your order with the Retake picture until the Picture Package envelope and its contents have been returned but we can still take a new photo if that information is not provided on picture day.

If there are questions, please contact the customer service department of Upstate Images at 855-773-3321 (M-F, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm).

It was an exciting day at CCSD as we were privileged to be part of a flyover with historic aircraft to honor Veterans in our Corinth community and across the country! Students and staff dressed in red, white and blue and were honored to celebrate the bravery of our men and women of the military. This week's character strength for The Positivity Project was bravery and today's event brought it all to life! What a fantastic culminating event to honor our American Veterans! Thank you to Mr. Schenone and the CHS Student Government for facilitating our participation in the event.

A big shout out to the CHS Counseling Team who facilitated a field trip for our 9th graders to "CTE WORKS 2024!" There were over 80 companies, organizations and CTE programs at the Saratoga City Center today for this career exploration event! Our 9th graders were engaged in hands-on activities, asking questions and considering the many paths available to them as part of their CHS education!

Community Announcement:
The CARE Committee is happy to share information with Corinth Families about the "Warm the Children" program.

Warm the Children (WTC) is a collaborative effort among The Post-Star and the communities it serves; in partnership with The Glens Falls Rotary, the Salvation Army, and Southern Adirondack Independent Living (SAIL), among other local agencies, to provide new winter clothing for the children who may benefit from some extra support.

Interested families can call SAIL at 518-478-6521 or email warmthechildrengf@gmail.com to apply. There are income eligibility requirements they will review with you at intake.

Once approved, the Warm the Children program matches families with a volunteer shopper to meet at a local JC Penney and you and your children get to go shopping. Budget per child ranges from $100 - $175 based on age.

Sounds like a fun and helpful resource!
Donations to this program can be made to the "Warm the Children Program" and mailed to the Glens Falls Rotary, P.O. Box 2702, Glens Falls, NY 12801
