Dear CCSD Families,
This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Perseverance. Perseverance means completing what you start despite obstacles. It means never giving up.
People who show perseverance keep trying, even when they face challenges. They stay focused on their goals and work hard, even when things don't go as planned. Those who persevere often achieve great things because they don't quit. They also learn a lot and get better at what they do.
Perseverance can also inspire others. When one person in a group keeps going despite setbacks, it can motivate the whole team to keep trying and reach their goals.
To practice and encourage the character strength of perseverance at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families: https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/ where you can watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions. Please consider asking your student about the daily social emotional learning lessons, discussions and activities.
Have a good week!

Alumni Spotlight!
Corinth Alumnus, C.J. Saunders, Class of 2009, recently returned to CCSD to inspire and share his journey with Mrs. Fay's and Mrs. Jensen's business and math students!
Now living in Charlotte, NC, C.J. is a successful Accountant at Newell Brands (the powerhouse behind companies like Rubbermaid, Sharpie, Papermate, Coleman, and Marmot). He shared valuable insights into the endless opportunities and flexibility an accounting background offers.
C.J. emphasized that while he wasn't sure of his path after high school, attending SUNY Plattsburgh helped him discover his passion for accounting. He also highlighted the universal need for accountants in every industry—businesses, government, and nonprofits alike—who ensure financial success and profitability.
Additionally, he stressed the growing importance of data analysts and coding skills in making informed financial decisions. "AI tools are just that—tools," he noted. "Accounting will always be essential, and anyone can learn the language of accounting, no matter your high school grades!"
We are so proud of C.J. Saunders and all his achievements since graduation! Thank you for taking the time to share your wisdom and expertise with our students.
