Dear CCSD Families,
This week, our school will focus on the character strength of Integrity. Integrity means being honest, truthful, and genuine.
Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching. People with integrity tell the truth and align their thoughts, feelings, and actions. They have the courage to stick to their beliefs, even if it means not following the crowd. Integrity is closely related to honesty and authenticity.
Integrity is essential for personal growth and well-being. When your thoughts, feelings, and actions are in harmony, you can grow and achieve your goals. Being authentic and genuine makes you more likable and trusted by others, improving your relationships.
To practice and encourage the character strength of integrity at home, please visit the Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly: https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/ There, you can watch a video, read a quote, and discuss three questions together.
Thank you for your continued support of our social emotional learning curriculum!

Our Modified Field Hockey team played their annual "Pink Game" on Thursday evening. Coach Crombach shared game highlights:
"Congratulations to the girls modified Field Hockey team and an excellent game Thursday night at home against Hoosick Falls. It was our pink game and our Riverhawks definitely looked great on the field.
Our offense is really putting things together, moving the ball up and down the field with purposeful passing and our defense did a nice job of getting the ball out of our circle. Next week we’re on the road to Greenwich on Tuesday and our final home game on Thursday. Let’s keep the momentum going Riverhawks!"
We hope to see a lot of fans at the last home game!! Keep working hard, Riverhawks!! We are proud of you!

At the Waterford Boys Soccer tournament this weekend, the teams honored the memory of a local young girl named Avery, a passionate soccer player, who succumbed to brain cancer recently. On October 12th, soccer players around the region participated in "Cleats for Avery," displaying team cleats in Avery's memory. Four teams in the tournament participated: Waterford-Halfmoon, Lake George, Chatham and Corinth Varsity Soccer Teams as seen in the images below.
Our players were modeling EMPATHY, a character trait embedded in our Social-Emotional-Learning curriculum, The Positivity Project. Empathy was an important component of our work with Sweethearts and Heroes this week as well. Way to make us proud, RIverhawks.
Our Riverhawks take on Waterford-Halfmoon at 7PM for the tournament championship. We hope to see a lot of fans in the stand cheering and supporting this hardworking team. #CorinthProud #Empathy #CorinthisCommunity #GoRiverhawks

It was another great day on the field for our Varsity Boys Soccer Team! Coach Deso shared highlights from this exciting match up:
"The team traveled to Waterford yesterday afternoon for the first round of their Columbus Day tournament. Chatham was first to strike, and would put the Riverhawks down by one at halftime. The resilience of this team was on full display in the second half. They seemed to find that next gear, jumpstarting their offense while solidifying their defense. Patience and determination were paramount in the second half. It would take a total of 72 minutes, but the Riverhawks would find the equalizer off a corner kick with eight minutes remaining in regulation. Sam Tangora struck a low ball that would curl in near post, glance off the keeper’s body and find the back of the net. A short time later, Corinth would earn an additional corner, taken once again by Tangora. This time, as the ball was served and chaos ensued, Tristan Lozier would streak through the box to drive home a low header, giving the Riverhawks a well-earned, hard-fought, come from behind 2-1 victory.
The team now stands at 10-2-1 overall, and will face off on Monday night in the tournament final at 7:00pm against the winner of the Waterford/Lake George game. Please continue to travel with us to support these guys… we love and greatly appreciate your support!" Congratulations to our RIverhawks! We hope to see a lot of fans in the stands supporting this hardworking team of athletes and coaches! #CorinthProud

Our Girls Varsity Soccer team earned another WIN tonight! Coach Kanofsky shared game highlights:
"The varsity girls soccer team won their game against Hadley-Luzerne this evening 4-0. Goals came from Alexis Craig, Caitlyn Crossman, Alexis Hall and Alexis Baker.
The Riverhawks held a majority of the possession and had so many successful passing sequences. Their communication allowed them to move the ball up field with ease. I am very proud of this group of athletes. Keep moving forward!"

Our Varsity Golf Team has GREAT news to share!
"The Riverhawk Varsity Golf Team won the Adirondack League Championship over Hadley Luzerne in a very close match today!!
After our #1 and #2 lost close matches we needed the rest of the team to win out. Aiden Schurr and Copper Philo won on the last hole to win their matches and Liam Crooks and Collin Vincent also won their matches to give us the 3-2 victory.
It was a very exciting end to the season as the team won their close match on Tuesday in the last putt and today won the championship on the last hole! We also had Reiley Halliday qualify for sectionals and he plays again on Tuesday next week! Great job team! " ~ Coach Bruno
Congratulations to our Riverhawks!!! We are so proud of you! We wish Reiley much success on Tuesday!!! #CorinthProud

Our Boys Varsity Soccer team continued to earn success on the field Wednesday night. Coach Deso shared game highlights:
"The Scots of Argyle travelled to Corinth yesterday afternoon for their final league contest of the season. First half action would find each team battling for control of the midfield, both teams struggling to create offensive magic to put their team first on the board. The two teams would leave the field scoreless at halftime.
In the second half, the Riverhawks began to find their game, patiently playing the possession game, trying to find cracks in the defense. The only score of the game would result from a Sam Tangora cross with but 8 minutes remaining in regulation. Tyler Smolinski would streak across the 18, and finish with a punishing header to secure the win for the Riverhawks. Owen Baker would collect 7 saves, earning his 8th overall shutout on the season!
Corinth ends their regular league season record at 5-1-1, with a current overall record of 9-2-1. The team next travels to the Waterford Columbus Day tournament this weekend to take on first round opponent Chatham. Monday's opponent will depend on the outcome of Saturday's game. Next week is also a huge week for the team. With our win against Argyle, the team secured 2nd place in the Adirondack League. On Wednesday, October 16th, we will be hosting Ft. Ann in the first round of the Adirondack League tournament... the winner of this game will go on to play Saturday for the Adirondack League Championship... let's get a huge crowd together to cheer these athletes on the rest of the way!"
What a fantastic season so far! Congratulations Riverhawks! Keep up the great work!!

It was an exciting day CCSD as we welcomed Sweethearts and Heroes! Our middle and high school students participated in exciting, interactive assemblies today that focused on promoting a safe and healthy school community.
